Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks an EL Instructional Specialist: Dual Language to advance and support CPS dual language programs. You will promote bilingualism and biliteracy, coordinate curriculum with district standards, and provide targeted professional development to teachers and staff to improve instructional practices.

You will collaborate with administrators and educators to ensure high program quality, equity, and culturally responsive instruction across CPS sites.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in bilingual/dual language education or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Illinois Professional Educator Licensure with Bilingual/ESL endorsement.
• Five years of teaching/leadership in dual-language education; PD coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom observations and data analysis to assess program effectiveness.
• Provide targeted professional development to educators for dual language programs.
• Support curriculum specialists to align dual language curriculum with standards.
• Ensure curriculum includes culturally relevant content and diverse perspectives.
• Utilize student performance data and language assessments to inform program decisions.
• Design and deliver professional development on bilingual teaching strategies and cultural competence.
• Collaborate with school leaders to maintain high program quality across CPS.
• Collaborate across departments for instruction alignment.
