Job summary

University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty to teach Psychology through the Dual Enrollment Program. Courses are taught in person at partnering high schools and allow eligible students to earn college credit from UMES.

Adjunct instructors will maintain academic standards, align with syllabus and outcomes, and collaborate with high school staff to support student success. Appointments depend on partnerships, course availability, and funding.

Qualifications

• Hold a Master’s degree or higher in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
• Possess the academic preparation and content expertise necessary to provide college level Psychology instruction.
• Demonstrate effective teaching, communication, classroom management, and student engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned UMES Psychology courses in person at designated partnering high schools.
• Follow the partnering school's instructional calendar and class schedule while meeting UMES requirements.
• Use the UMES-approved syllabus, course description, and learning outcomes for the assigned course.
• Provide students access to materials, assignments, assessments, grades, and course communications via Canvas.
• Maintain the same academic standards as UMES courses and deliver rigor and meaningful feedback.
