The Dual Enrollment Navigator is a student-centered advising andsupport position that applies BRCC's personalized support modelprinciples to dual enrollment students. Reporting to the Directorof Academic Program Initiatives, the Dual Enrollment Navigatorserves as the primary liaison between Baton Rouge Community Collegeand assigned K-12 partner schools while providing concierge-stylesupport to students and families from initial exploration through successful transitioninto postsecondary education. At BRCC, student progression startsbefore registration. The Navigator will help schools build annualdual enrollment schedules, identify pathway cohorts, and ensurestudents are taking the right courses in the right sequence tosupport degree completion, Fast Forward pathways, industry-based credentials,and transfer goals.

The Dual Enrollment Navigator supports students according topersonalized support principles by developing meaningfulrelationships with students, understanding their educational andcareer goals, providing proactive and intrusive advising,maintaining individualized student success plans, conductingregular outreach and follow-up, facilitating intentional referrals,and monitoring student progress throughout their dual enrollmentexperience.

The position serves as both a school partnership representativeand student success professional, helping students identifyeducational pathways that align with their interests, strengths,career aspirations, workforce opportunities, and long-term academicgoals.

Key Responsibilities
40% Student Navigation and Success Planning
  • Assist students in identifying academic and workforce pathwaysthat align with their interests, strengths, career goals, andpostsecondary aspirations.
  • Develop and maintain individualized student success plans forassigned dual enrollment students.
  • Provide proactive and intrusive advising to support studentpersistence, progression, and successful completion of dualenrollment coursework.
  • Guide students through admissions, enrollment, registration,pathway selection, and transition planning processes.
  • Communicate with students and families at regular pointsthroughout the student lifecycle to monitor progress and addressbarriers to success.
  • Coach students on educational planning, workforceopportunities, industry-based credentials, transfer pathways, anddegree completion strategies.
  • Maintain detailed advising notes and student records withininstitutional systems.
  • Collaborate with high school counselors, graduation coaches,and school administrators to ensure students remain on track towardhigh school graduation requirements, industry-based credentials,associate degree pathways, technical diplomas, certificates, andtransfer goals.
30% Student Outreach, Monitoring, andIntervention
  • Analyze student data to identify indicators requiring proactiveoutreach and intervention.
  • Monitor student enrollment, attendance, academic performance,persistence, and completion outcomes.
  • Engage students through multiple communication methodsincluding individual meetings, phone calls, virtual advising,classroom visits, school-based outreach, and enrollmentevents.
  • Implement interventions and success strategies designed tosupport student achievement and retention.
  • Make intentional referrals to academic support services,financial aid, advising, accessibility services, career services,workforce programs, and other institutional resources.
25% School Partnership and Program Support
  • Serve as the primary BRCC liaison for assigned partner schoolsand districts.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships withprincipals, counselors, graduation coaches, instructors, districtadministrators, students, and families.
  • Meet regularly with school counselors and academic leadershipteams to review student progression, enrollment trends, pathwayparticipation, and completion outcomes.
  • Assist schools in the development of annual dual enrollmentcourse requests and academic plans that align with student demand,credential pathways, degree requirements, transfer opportunities,workforce priorities, and instructor availability.
  • Support schools in building course schedules and pathway mapsthat promote efficient student progression and maximize credentialattainment opportunities.
  • Coordinate dual enrollment admissions, scheduling,registration, onboarding, and communication activities betweenpartner schools and BRCC.
  • Assist with instructor onboarding and credentialingprocesses.
  • Monitor pathway enrollment, course sequencing, studentprogression, and completion data to identify opportunities forimprovement.
  • Support compliance with Board of Regents, LCTCS, accreditation,and institutional requirements.
  • Collect and maintain data related to enrollment, persistence,completion, credential attainment, transfer outcomes, and programeffectiveness.
  • Participate in outreach activities that promote dualenrollment, college-going culture, workforce pathways, andpostsecondary access.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may beconsidered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
