Georgia Northwestern Technical College seeks a part-time Dual Enrollment Welding Adjunct Instructor for Dalton Academy, reporting to the Dean of Industrial Technologies. The position will travel to other campuses as needed and involves advising students in the Welding and Joining Technology program.

On-campus presence is required; telework is not offered. The role supports High School Dual Enrollment welding instruction, collaborates with faculty, and participates in institutional activities

Qualifications

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Welding and Joining Technology or related field, or industry experience, or specialized/related training with an emphasis on demonstrated competencies and achievements.
  • Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years, with competencies in the welding instructional program.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Maintains program certification requirements and required documentation.
  • Ensures safety and security in the training area.
  • Meets with students and staff to discuss instructional programs and issues.

This position will report to the Dean of Industrial Technologies. This adjunct position is for welding instruction for High School Dual Enrollment students. In addition, the instructor will advise students in the Welding and Joining Technology program and participate in institutional activities. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects to a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.If the job involves driving, physical requirements include the ability to operate a vehicle and sit for extended periods.Salary: Lump Sum, MOUBenefits:If this is a part-time position, no benefits are available.
