Job summary

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is seeking qualified instructors to teach college-level courses to eligible high school students through the M.O.C.S. Start Dual Enrollment program. Courses may be offered on campus, online, or at participating high schools.

Instructors will deliver UTC-calibrated instruction and help students navigate their first college experiences. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline, or a master’s with 18 graduate hours,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline, consistent with SACSCOC guidelines.
• Demonstrated academic preparation and subject-matter expertise for the course(s) assigned.
• Ability to provide official transcripts and a CV/résumé documenting preparation and experience.
• SACSCOC credentialing and appointment review process adherence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality college-level instruction aligned with UTC course descriptions and standards.
• Teach courses with the same rigor as UTC courses.
• Create engaging, inclusive learning environments encouraging curiosity and participation.
• Provide clear expectations, instruction, assessment, and timely feedback.
• Support students transitioning to college-level learning.
• Maintain accurate course records, grades, and attendance.
• Communicate with students, university personnel, and school partners.
• Participate in UTC orientation, PD, training, and program activities.
• Comply with UTC policies and Tennessee requirements.
