Job summary

Palomar College seeks a part-time Early College Credit Counselor to support the Instruction Office at the San Marcos campus, including day, evening, and weekend assignments across multiple locations and distance education.

The role requires a Master’s in counseling or a related field (or a combined qualification with an MFT license) and involves developing educational plans and delivering follow-up services for Early College Credit students.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under 1) through 3).
• 1) Master’s in counseling or related field.
• 2) Bachelor’s plus MFT license per California regs.
• 3) Education/experience equivalent and submit equivalency form.

Responsibilities

• Teach counseling courses and provide academic, personal, and career counseling.
• Develop educational plans and deliver follow-up services to Early College Credit students.

Education

Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling

Bachelor’s degree in any of the disciplines listed above and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)

Combination of education and experience equivalent to 1) or 2); must attach Equivalency form if needed
