Job summary

South Texas College invites an adjunct faculty member whose primary responsibility is to design and create learning opportunities that maximize student success. This role emphasizes assessing learners, providing feedback, and offering varied instructional formats to reach diverse backgrounds.

The position requires availability for office hours, collaboration in evaluations and professional development, and adherence to regulatory record-keeping.

• Ability to provide official transcripts and evaluation of foreign credentials.
• Applicants will be subject to a national criminal background check under STC policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess learner abilities and student performance.
• Provide feedback to assist students in attaining learning competencies and course objectives stated in the section outline.
• Design and implement learning options in formats suitable for diverse students.
• Create and distribute to students a section outline based on the master syllabi.
• Provide content expertise and individual assistance via scheduled office hours and arranged appointments.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement through program evaluation of course materials, instructional strategies, learning resources, and technology.
• Participate in department/division meetings for adjuncts to facilitate communication and continuity of instruction.
• Participate in faculty evaluation and orientation/professional development programs.
• Maintain and submit records required by regulatory agencies.
• Maintain required office hours to ensure accessibility to students.
• Performs other duties as assigned
