Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience:

  • Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.
  • Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
  • Answer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through in-store sales or digital orders.

Be committed to providing a positive, consistent customer experience:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for customers and staff, including cleaning, organizing, and housekeeping tasks.
  • Receive inbound freight, prepare and organize merchandise on the sales floor, complete markdowns, and maintain stockroom standards.

Leverage in-store and digital services to enhance the customer experience:

  • Complete fulfillment functions: locating items, inspecting, packaging, and labeling for pickup/delivery.
  • Use company tools to check product availability and assist customers accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Prioritize customer service and transaction accuracy:

  • Handle transactions following company policies, ensuring accurate cash handling and use of register tools.
  • Partner with the CEL for escalated customer issues.
  • Follow all asset protection policies.

Bring energy and teamwork to the role:

  • Participate in team meetings and training.
  • Be receptive to coaching and feedback.
  • Support an inclusive team environment.
Required Skills:
  • Availability to meet the needs of the business.
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology (registers, iPhone, calculator).
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 100% of shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
Experience:
  • No prior retail experience required.
