Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a DSP Systems Engineer (Level 4) for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on designing and developing RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems and verifying DSP architectures.

The candidate will allocate and verify requirements for digital payloads and develop performance budgets. Prefer candidates with advanced degrees in signal processing or algorithm development and experience with ASIC/FPGA design, verification, and hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 1+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing.
• 5+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
• Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point DSP architectures.
• Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for digital payloads.
• Develop performance and link budgets.
• Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
• Assist with conducting trade studies.
• Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.
• Support unit-level integration and performance simulations.
• Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
• Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
