Job summary

Golden Heart Des Moines is seeking DSPs to provide direct care in clients' homes, focusing on building confidence and independence through short, focused sessions.

You will coach, encourage progress, and help clients grow daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking, hygiene and time management, with paid training and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of caregiving, DSP, or related experience required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in community settings.
• Dependable, patient, and encouraging personality.

Responsibilities

About the Role

In this position, you will provide short, focused support sessions that help individuals gain confidence and independence in everyday life.

You are not just assisting, but you are coaching, encouraging, and celebrating progress as clients work toward their personal goals.

DSP Providing Direct Care and working alongside other Support Staff in the home for clients with disabilities (intellectual or behavioral) This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, encouraging independence, and supporting individuals as they grow in life skills and personal goals without the demands of long shifts.

Paid Training is included for all our roles, company-wide

Duties include, but tailored to the persons service plan:

Support individuals in developing daily living and independent life skills
