Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory seeks a digital signal processing engineer to join the Electronics for Contested Space group. You will model, analyze, prototype, and demonstrate concepts with real-world experiments across space and terrestrial domains, developing secure, scalable software in a multidisciplinary team.

Ownership of ideas, mentoring of junior staff, and interaction with sponsors are key aspects; occasional travel may be required to support field exercises and events.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or similar; alternatively Bachelor's with 3+ years experience
• Significant experience with digital signal processing techniques and algorithms
• Strong software engineering in C/C++, Rust, Java or system-level languages; secure, scalable, maintainable code

Responsibilities

• Develop and model DSP concepts and algorithms for resilient space systems
• Mentor junior staff and communicate with sponsors and community
• Work with multidisciplinary teams across terrestrial and space domains, including real‑world experiments
