Job summary

Legato, LLC in Hanover, MD is seeking a DSP Software Engineer to design and implement high-throughput DSP software. The role emphasizes DSP algorithms, C++, Linux, and Python within a collaborative multi-discipline team.

Three experience levels are available, with compensation aligned to the level. Telework up to two days per week is possible; strong candidates will have a BS in a technical field and experience in DSP software development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related with DSP emphasis.
• Experience designing and implementing DSP algorithms in software.
• Proficiency in C++, Linux, Python or similar technologies.
• Strong grasp of DSP concepts and modulation techniques.
• Experience documenting models and algorithms for team use.
• Ability to work on performance-intensive software with timing/resource constraints.
• Level 1–3 progression with experience-based compensation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance DSP software and algorithms.
• Implement DSP algorithms in C++, Linux, and Python environments.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineers throughout the lifecycle.
• Analyze requirements, debug defects, and optimize performance.
• Document design and functionality for engineering peers.
