Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide quality living support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. You will assist with daily living, social activities, and personal care to help individuals live as independently as possible.

The schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM. You will build real connections, advocate for each person’s rights, and maintain accurate records to ensure continuity of care and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with 2+ years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality living support to adults with IDD in the community across physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal aspects.
• Support community engagement, attend local events, and facilitate meaningful activities.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and independence.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Direct Support Professionalwho will provides quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

The work schedule is: Saturday and Sunday 9 AM - 7 PM

Gallagher Services supportsadults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice.Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. The Cornerstones of the program are Person-Centered Planning and the mission and values of Catholic Charities.

A Day in the Life:

You’llspend your days supporting a group of fun, vibrant individuals who enjoy:

• Playing bingo and sharing laughs
• Watching favorite movies and discussing characters
• Singing along to music or relaxing with a favorite playlist
• Coloring, crafting, and creating art
• Reading books aloud or flipping through pages together
