Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide quality living support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. The role involves helping with daily living, social activities, and community engagement on Saturdays and Sundays, 7 AM to 7 PM.

You will be a caring, dependable communicator who advocates for rights and supports individuals to live as independently as possible, forming real connections and meaningful

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities

• Support community engagement and activities with adults who have IDD.
• Assist with daily living and community outings, such as walks, events, and social activities.
• Be a dependable, kind communicator who builds real connections with individuals and their families.
• Maintain clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Direct Support Professionalwho will provides quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

The work schedule is: Saturday and Sunday 7 AM - 7 PM

Gallagher Services supportsadults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice.Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. The Cornerstones of the program are Person-Centered Planning and the mission and values of Catholic Charities.

A Day in the Life:

You’llspend your days supporting a group of fun, vibrant individuals who enjoy:

• Playing bingo and sharing laughs
• Watching favorite movies and discussing characters
• Singing along to music or relaxing with a favorite playlist
• Coloring, crafting, and creating art
• Reading books aloud or flipping through pages together
