Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional II in La Puente, CA on a full-time PM shift. You will assist adults with developmental disabilities, help with daily living activities, meals, and transportation in a structured, supportive environment.

CPR/First Aid certification is required, with at least 1 year of related experience preferred. The role emphasizes safety, compassion, and independence in a non-remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living activities to support independence, health, and personal growth.
• Provide hygiene, grooming, dietary, and dressing assistance.
• Support clients with bathroom needs and changing clothing when necessary.
• Prepare meals and perform cleanup.
• Follow IPP daily routines.
• Redirect behaviors through activities and provide safe transportation when required.

Position Details

• Job Title: Direct Support Professional I & II

• Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $19.50 /hr. with DSP certificates

• Shifts: Full -Time PM Shifts 2PM to 10PM (Friday - Monday)

• Location: La Puente, CA 91744

• Work Setting: One Location (Not Remote)

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional II, you will assist adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives, supporting independence, health, and personal growth.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assisting with hygiene, grooming, dietary, and dressing needs

• Supporting clients with bathroom needs

• Changing clothing/undergarments when necessary

• Preparing meals and completing cleanup

• Following daily routines outlined in the Individual Program Plan (IPP)

• Redirecting behaviors through activities like walking, reading, games, math, and computer tasks

• Providing safe transportation in company vans when required

Every day, you'll help create a supportive, structured, and empowering environment for the individuals you serve.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

• Certifications Required: CPR/First Aid

• Experience:

  • 1 year of personal or professional experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g., Autism) or mental health conditions (e.g., Bipolar) strongly preferred

• Driving Requirements:

  • Valid in-state driver's license

  • Must be 21+

  • Current registration & insurance

  • Driving record with no more than 2 points in the past 3 years

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
