Job summary

A disability services organization in New York City is hiring Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role includes providing habilitation services, assisting with daily living skills, and ensuring the well-being of clients in a supportive environment. Qualifications

• At least one year experience providing direct care services to adults with a developmental disability.
• AMAP certified, SCIP-R trained, CPR & First Aid trained.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license and able to pass insurance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide habilitation services as prescribed in client’s service plans.
• Assist clients in skill development such as daily living activities.
• Administer medication to clients with appropriate training.
• Ensure clients’ nutritional needs are met according to prescribed diet.
• Report any deficiencies or safety issues to management.

Skills

Direct care services experience

CPR & First Aid trained

AMAP certified

SCIP-R trained

Valid NYS Driver’s license

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate’s Degree preferred
