Job summary

A respected disability services organization in New York City is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in skill development. This role includes assisting consumers with independent living, socialization, and daily living activities in a safe environment. Candidates should have experience in direct care services and relevant certifications. The position offers a pay rate of $19 per hour, flexible scheduling, and comprehensive benefits including medical insurance and generous paid vacations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience providing direct care services to adults with a developmental disability.
• AMAP certified, SCIP‑R trained, CPR & First Aid trained.

Responsibilities

• Assist each consumer in skill development in independent living and socialization.
• Supervise consumers in the community to ensure safety and skill reinforcement.
• Lead group sessions to facilitate discussions and skill learning.
• Provide progress reports regarding valued outcomes.
