Makom is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in Maryland and Virginia. DSPs help individuals with IDD lead self-determined, meaningful lives and engage with their communities.

Responsibilities include person-centered support, skill development, community engagement, daily living assistance, health and safety, and adaptability. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for full-time staff, alongside a supportive, mission-driven work environment.

Qualificações

• High school diploma required; further education in human services or related field is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Active participation in cultivating a culture of communication with people we support, families, and coworkers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
• Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and external partners.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance and kneel to provide hands-on support.

Responsabilidades

• Person-Centered Support: Provide individualized support based on each person’s skills, aspirations, and needs.
• Skill Development: Support skill-building and growth per PCP/ISP.
• Community Engagement: Facilitate opportunities for individuals to experience community and build social networks.
• Daily Living Assistance: Provide coaching for ADLs and IADLs tailored to each individual's needs.
• Health & Safety: Ensure clean, safe environments and adherence to care plans.
• Adaptability: Evolve approach as individuals’ needs change.
