At Peace Health Care Agency in Beech Creek, PA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing person-centered care and promoting independence in home and community settings.

You will implement individualized care plans (BSP), assist with daily living and mobility, and accompany clients to medical appointments while ensuring safety, privacy, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Experience with bedbound patients and ability to lift using a Hoyer.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient rights.

You’ll provide person-centered care, encourage independence, and ensure safety and dignity in every interaction.

Duties

• Deliver hands‑on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility
• Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities
• Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP)
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well‑being
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorderand other diverse needs
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments

Skills

• Strong knowledge of behavioral support plans (BSPs) and home care practices
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs
• Proficient in goal tracking and implementing individualized support strategies
• Solid understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance
• Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills

Requirements

Job Type: Part‑time

Benefits

• Schedule: Wed 8a‑4p, Thurs 6 am‑8 am, and Friday 8a‑4p. = 18 hrs per week
