Job Summary

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—both at home and in the community. You’ll provide person-centered care, encourage independence, and ensure safety and dignity in every interaction.
Duties
- Deliver hands‑on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
- Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities.
- Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP).
- Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well‑being.
- Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other diverse needs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavioral support plans (BSPs) and home care practices.
- Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs.
- Proficient in goal tracking and implementing individualized support strategies.
- Solid understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance.
- Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Prior experience as a DSP.
- Experience with bedbound patients, ability to lift and use a Hoyer lift.

- Schedule: Wed 8 a.m.–4 p.m., Thu 6 a.m.–8 a.m., Fri 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (18 hrs per week).
