Job summary

Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help people with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities under OPWDD ComHab and Respite programs. You will support individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in meaningful daily activities.

Responsibilities include building daily living skills, promoting community integration, implementing ISPs, and ensuring safety during respite services both in-home and in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in Human Services preferred.
• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable, patient, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing daily living skills (e.g., cooking, hygiene, money management, transportation).
• Promote community integration by assisting participation in recreational, educational, and vocational activities.
• Implement ISPs and document progress toward personal goals; encourage self-advocacy and independence.
