Job summary

DSP Arizona in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to assist individuals in our Day Program with daily living activities and social development. You will follow individualized care plans, encourage independence, and document progress in client records.

Based in a community setting, the role requires reliable transportation, strong communication with care teams, and a compassionate, patient approach to support clients across shifts up to 50 miles as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Patience and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to clear a background check.
• Proficient with technology.
• Written and spoken communication skills (English).

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive work environment.
• Provide comprehensive supervision and engagement of all assigned client(s) according to their individual care plan.
• Plans and/or facilitates client activities and outings, events, and activity planning to align with the client’s Person Centered Support Plan.
• Maintain and provide reliable transportation for client(s) based on their care plan.
• Maintains personal compliance (current auto insurance with personal liability coverage rates minimums, auto registration, drivers license etc.)
• Completes all required compliance training on time (including Huddles, SOAR, and CPR training)
• Completes all required client care documentation on time (carenotes, incident reports, behavior data tracking, medication records, etc.).
• Is on time and ready to work for all assigned shifts.
• Supports clients with activities of daily living (ADL) based on their care plan (bathroom assistance, personal hygiene, eating, etc.).
• Maintains clear and timely communication to leadership.
• Updates client’s care team with any and all changes in client’s behaviors, demeanor or any changes that are concerning.
• Maintains professionalism with clients, co-workers, and client’s care team.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ability to travel up to 50 miles for shifts as needed.

This Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is the heart of our company! This role if for a DSP in our Day Program. (DTA). The individuals we serve may need your help with their activities of daily living and to develop social, physical, and emotional skill sets.
