Embracelifeservices in Arizona is seeking a Day Program Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care and engagement for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role supports personal care, social interactions, and meaningful activities within a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The position is primarily full‑time with potential for part‑time/on‑call options. Responsibilities include activity planning, documentation, safety, and community outings, with required fingerprint

Qualifications

• Age 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Able to obtain Arizona Fingerprint Clearance.
• Able to obtain CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support certifications.
• Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred.
• Eligible drivers must have a valid AZ Driver License and clean MVD record.

Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships with members, offering emotional support, companionship, and assistance during program hours.
• Assist members with personal care, communication, and social interactions while promoting independence and dignity.
• Collaborate with Day Program Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead diverse activities and workshops.
• Design activities aligned with members' interests, developmental goals, and individualized care plans.
• Guide and encourage members to actively engage in activities, supporting cognitive, emotional, and physical well‑being.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and accomplishments; complete required documentation promptly.
• Ensure safety and well‑being by following safety protocols and emergency procedures; administer medications per healthcare plans.

The Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing compassionate care, support, and engagement to individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP creates a nurturing
and inclusive environment, facilitates meaningful activities, and promotes members personal growth and community involvement.

About the role:

This position is offered primarily as Full-time position. Opportunities may be offered for part-time or On-call positions but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. ELS Day programs are open Monday-
Friday and closed for any federal holiday and may also at the discretion of the supervisor or director for situations relating to training, or the health and well being of members and staff.

Responsibilities:

Member Care and Support

• Foster positive relationships with members, offering emotional support, companionship, and assistance during program hours.
• Assist members with personal care, communication, and social interactions while promoting their independence and dignity.

Activity Planning and Facilitation

• Collaborate with Day Program Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead a diverse range of activities and workshops.
• Design activities that align with members interests, developmental, goals, and individualized care plans.
• Guide and encourage members to actively engage in activities, fostering their cognitive, emotional and physical well-being.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and thorough records of members' attendance, progress, and accomplishments.
• Complete required documentation, incident reports, and any necessary paperwork promptly and according to organizational procedures.

Health and Safety

• Ensure participants' safety, comfort, and well-being by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Administer medications and follow healthcare plans as directed, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

Individualized Care and Support

• Implement individualized care plans, behavior support strategies, and therapeutic interventions tailored to each participant's needs.
• Encourage participants to express preferences, make choices, and work towards their personal goals.

Community Engagement

• Accompany members on community outings, recreational activities, educational visits and social interactions.
• Foster members social skills, community integration, and positive interactions with others

Interpersonal Skills

• Cultivate respectful and trusting relationships with members, ensuring their emotional wellbeing and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with members, families, colleagues, and external partners.

Professional Development

• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills in developmental disabilities, behavior management, and person-centered care.
• Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations and emerging trends.

Requirements:

• A least 18 years of age.
• A High School diploma or GED.
• Able to obtain Arizona State level one fingerprint clearance.
• Able to obtain certifications for CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support.
• Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred
• Eligible drivers must have a clean 39-month MVD report and have a valid AZ Driver License

This position requires an active Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPC). Additionally, candidates must complete a background check through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) as part of the hiring process.
