Job description

Position Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
  • Developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
  • Conducting performance analysis of signal processing models
  • Performing waveform development and characterization
  • Performing trade studies
  • Supporting integration and test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
  • Supporting HDL-level design and verification
  • Performing detailed system design and verification activities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience in digital signal processing (DSP) / digital communications algorithms and techniques (equalization, turbo/Viterbi coding/decoding, channel estimation, filter design, resampling theory, etc.).
  • 1+ years of experience with Matlab or Simulink.
  • 3+ years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory.
  • 1+ years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade design).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Experience with performance characteristics of analog electronics or data converters (ADCs/DACs).
  • Experience with digital/RF lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer).
  • 3+ years of experience with Matlab and/or Simulink.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital signal processing or digital communications.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade design).
  • Leading teams.
  • Leading IR&D activities.
  • Mid‑level: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Lead Level: 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Summary Pay Range for Mid‑level (Level 3): $119,850 – $162,150

Summary Pay Range for Lead level (Level 4): $146,200 – $197,800

Export Control Requirements

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet these requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
