Entry Level Systems Engineer-Digital Signal Processing Company: The Boeing Company

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), SI&WS (Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems) Division is seeking an Entry Level Systems Engineer to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.

You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems. Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test. You will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
  • Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Education or experience in signal processing
  • Experience in a role that required strong communication skills, written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
  • Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs
  • Coursework and/or experience in analog/digital signal processing
  • Experience or coursework using Matlab/Simulink
Typical Education & Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
