Job summary

Easter Seals Southern California, Inc. is seeking a direct-support caretaker to provide daily living assistance in a residential group home in Pasadena. You will support residents with personal care, meals, and activities aligned with IPP/ISP goals.

The role requires 1-2 years of related experience, HS diploma, and valid CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and travel within the local area as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• DSP-I and DSP-II certification required.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications required.
• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent training/education.
• Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and tuberculosis test.
• Ability to obtain criminal record/fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Attend to residents' daily living skills per IPP/ISP goals.
• Assist in administration and monitoring of medications as directed.
• Provide personal care including eating, hygiene, shower, restroom and bedtime prep.
• Assist in care and cleaning of the residential home, including laundry and ironing.
• Assist with meals per dietary restrictions and aid G-tube feeding when needed.
• Transport residents to health appointments and other locations; complete required reports daily.
