Job summary

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2027 Dominican Summer League season. This full-time role is based at the Tigers Dominican Academy in San Pedro de Macorís, DR, with time in Lakeland, FL for Spring Training and events as needed.

You will provide daily game and practice coverage, injury prevention and rehabilitation, maintain medical records, and report to the International Medical Coordinator. Housing and meals are included.

Qualifications

• Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (BOC), in good standing.
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, in good standing.
• CPR/AED certified.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and management of injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the EMR system.
• Keep athletic training room organized and adherent to sterilization standards.
• Communicate daily with International Medical Coordinator and MiLB Medical Coordinator regarding injury status.
• Coordinate with physicians and coaching staff on athlete injury status.
• Assist with follow-up care for DSL players, including those in the Dominican Republic.
