Job summary

Sweetwater Care in California seeks an Education Director to plan, organize, develop, and direct in-service educational programs across the facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards to maintain high quality resident care.

The role involves leading program development, integrating training materials, setting goals, and maintaining records. Strong leadership, teaching experience, and California clinical licensure are required; DSD certification is a must.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.
• Incorporate commercially produced instruction material into in-service programs as needed.
• Provide leadership in formulating goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs.
• Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs per policies.
• Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional materials, etc., for in-service programs.
• Perform administrative tasks such as completing forms, attendance, and records.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning training programs.

ObJective:

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.
• Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.
• Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.
• Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, class attendance and subject records, etc.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning in-service training programs.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Clear & Active LVN/LPN or RN license in the State of California.
• Must be DSD Certified.
• Experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.
• Possess skills in leadership and communication.
