Job description

POSITION: Bar Back

DEPARTMENT: Lounge

REPORTS TO: Lounge Manager

TOUR OF DUTY: Varies

SUPERVISES: N/A

GENERAL FUNCTION: The responsibility of the Bar Back position is to stock the Lounge daily and work in other Lounge areas as assigned. This position will be cross-trained to help bartend/serve, food and beverages, as needed.

Duties And Repsonsibilities

• Put away stock when received.
• Assist in maintaining weekly/monthly inventory.
• Check stock on a daily basis, replenishing when needed.
• Work in assigned area(s) under the direct supervision of the manager.
• Maintain system units on a daily basis (pop system, beer and liquor lines, detergent compartments, etc).
• Works with fellow team members or independently to keep all areas cleaned and stocked at all times.
• Works as a team with all lounge team members in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient beverage/food service.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display according to departmental guidelines.
• Be informed of any/all daily promotions and/or events.
• Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum Qualifications

Twenty-one (21) years of age.

Other

Must obtain a non-gaming license upon hire. Previous experience preferred. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people. Excellent guest service skills. Basic math, reading and computer skills. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must complete Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) training.

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach and carry twenty (20) pounds or more; occasionally reach and carry fifty (50) pounds or more. Ability to occasionally handle and change a keg (180lbs). Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Ability to handle and change a five gallon bib of soda (65lbs). Potential hazards may include but not limited to: slipping and tripping.
