Job summary

Fortis Wall Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead drywall, acoustical ceiling, and specialty ceiling projects from award through completion. You will oversee field execution, procurement, schedules, budgets, change orders, documentation, and billing.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in drywall PM and strong blueprint-reading, with proficiency in Procore/Bluebeam. Travel between sites and in-person work are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years drywall project management experience; 5+ years preferred.
• 2+ years blueprint-reading experience.
• Strong knowledge of drywall, ACT, insulation, and ceilings.
• Experience with budgets, procurement, and change orders.

Responsibilities

Project Manager - Drywall & Acoustical Ceilings

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead drywall, acoustical ceiling, and specialty ceiling projects from award through completion. This role oversees field execution, material procurement, schedules, budgets, change orders, documentation, and billing.

The ideal candidate understands commercial interior construction and takes ownership of project results. You will work closely with general contractors, vendors, office staff, field supervisors, and crews to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to scope.

What You’ll Do

• Manage multiple projects from startup through final inspections, punch lists, and closeout.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and schedules, and prepare clear scopes of work for field teams.
• Review drawing revisions, addenda, architect's supplemental instructions (ASIs), and requests for information (RFIs) to identify scope changes and associated costs or credits.
• Estimate labor and material costs for additional or modified work; prepare, track, and coordinate approval and billing of change orders.
• Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
• Perform material takeoffs and coordinate purchasing and deliveries for framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, and related materials.
• Coordinate field labor, production schedules, and site logistics with supervisors, crews, general contractors, and other trades.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, productivity, material usage, and safety.
• Track budgets, labor hours, material costs, committed costs, and profitability; identify issues early and take corrective action.
• Oversee accurate and timely billing for completed work, stored materials, approved change orders, and final project balances.
• Maintain clear communication among clients, vendors, office personnel, and field teams.

What You Bring

• At least 2 years of drywall project management experience; 5 or more years of project management experience in drywall or commercial interior construction preferred.
• At least 2 years of blueprint-reading experience.
• Strong working knowledge of metal stud framing, drywall installation, insulation, taping and finishing, Level 5 finishes, acoustical ceiling systems (ACT), and specialty ceilings.
• Experience with material takeoffs, labor and material estimating, procurement, and change order preparation.
• A solid understanding of construction budgets, cost control, project billing, and profitability.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; English/Spanish bilingual skills strongly preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Google Sheets, or similar construction management tools preferred.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between job sites.
