Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking a Drywall Finisher to join our Drywall department in California. This full-time role requires lifting 50+ lbs, standing and reaching overhead, and working across multiple homes to achieve 4–6 floors per day.

Prior drywall experience is preferred, and you will help create attractive interior spaces for our customers. This ALPHA level position starts at $24.00 per hour; external candidates begin at $23.00 with progression toward ALPHA pay within 30 days if successful

Qualifications

• Experience with drywall finishing and interior finishing.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs repetitively.
• Eye for detail to ensure high‑quality interior finishes.

Responsibilities

• Wrap cabinets with interior plastic and prepare walls for finish.
• Finish 4–6 floors per day as part of drywall team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department.

The Drywall Finisher will be a part of the Drywall department team. This position requires the ability to lift, push, pull 50+lbs on a continuous basis and the ability to stand, bend, and reach overhead throughout the day for the entirety of the shift. This role will be expected to wrap cabinets with plastic on the interior of homes completing 4-6 floors per day. This team member will have other duties assigned (per the task stacker) to help their internal and external departments.

This role requires an eye for detail to make the interior of the house beautiful for our customers. Prior drywall experience in a recent role preferred.

This is a level ALPHA role , $24.00 per hour. External candidates will start at $23.00 per hour and move their way to ALPHA level pay over the first 30 days of employment if they are successful during their introductory period.
