Job summary

Joseph Gallo Farms in California seeks a Protein Dryer Operator to safely run dryer equipment and bag protein powder while maintaining production quality. The role requires following food safety and equipment sanitation protocols, lifting up to 50 pounds, and complying with shift schedules.

Primary duties include troubleshooting machinery, cleaning, and ensuring adherence to GMPs. Prior plant experience is preferred; position reports to Production Supervisor in Protein Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year work experience.

• Schedule flexibility for varied shifts, days, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate protein plant dryer equipment and achieve production goals with consistent quality.
• Package protein powder in 50 lb bags or large totes.
• Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine maintenance.
• Clean floors, walls, tools, and equipment.
• Follow chemical safety, workplace safety, and cGMP training practices.
• Perform CIP and sanitation of equipment and conduct inspections.
• Move pallets using pallet jack or forklift as required.

Requirements

Summary of Functions:

Primary responsibilities are to safely run protein plant dryer equipment and achieve the goals of production while maintaining consistent quality. This job description is sufficient for departmental functions such as: Protein Dryer and Bagger.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Running large machinery and maintenance.
• Packaging of protein powder in 50lb bags or large totes.
• Troubleshooting of machinery.
• Cleaning of floors, walls, tools, etc.
• Chemical safety, workplace safety and cGMP training and practices.
• CIP and sanitation of equipment.
• Routine inspections of all working parts.
• Move pallets using pallet jack or forklift as required.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
• Comply with GMPs in the plant.
• Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality System.
• Organizational Relationships:
• Position reports to the Production Supervisor in the Protein Department.
