Responsibilities

• Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or records by comparing identifiers and quantities.
• Enter data accurately into the designated system.
• Determine the shipment method.
• Affix shipping labels or stencil information on cartons.
• Insert items into containers and label them with shipping details.
• Stamp or stencil crates with identification and shipping instructions.
• Record weights and shipping charges; affix postage.
• Inspect incoming shipments for damages, note shortages, and coordinate with purchasers to resolve issues.
• Check outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Investigate pending invoices lacking receipts.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate a stand-up or hand truck to move shipments within the facility.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and orderly.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security and safety per OSHA/MSDS standards.

Dry Storage Team Member

Verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Accurately enter data into the appropriate system.
• Determines method of shipment.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Insert items into containers.
• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with purchasers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Investigate pending invoices that don’t have receipts.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred or;
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience

• One year's manufacturing experience is preferable.
