Job summary

Country Pure Foods, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Production Team Member to support multiple lines at our Hart, MI facility. The role involves assisting with packaging, line maintenance, and quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications.

Work may vary day to day in a fast-paced plant environment. Candidates should be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as needed. This is a seasonal position based in Hart, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Distributes bags of product evenly on conveyor belt in preparation for bulk packaging.
• Ensures product is packaged in the appropriate box based on customer requirements.
• Reports carton defects to appropriate individual(s).
• Ensures boxed product are correctly sealed, accurately date coded, and properly marked after passing through printer.
• Counts and records bags of product that pass through the pick packer operation.
• Sorts product as it crosses the sorting belt, removing all defective product as defined by quality standards.
• Reports material/product inconsistencies per quality standards.
• Rotates through multiple work centers and provides breaks to other team members to ensure continuous flow.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area following GMP and plant rules.
• Meets daily production requirements.
• Associates may be asked to flex into other positions depending on production needs.

Production team members support the flow of product down the production lines in multiple work areas, ensuring a quality product is shipping to the customer per product orders and other requirements. These positions could vary day to day but for the most part will be required to perform the below job duties:

• Distributes bags of product evenly on conveyor belt in preparation for bulk packaging.
• Ensures product is packet in the appropriate box based on customer requirements.
• Reports carton defects to appropriate individual(s).
• Ensures boxed product are correctly sealed, accurately date coded, and properly marked after passing through printer. Changes tape on box machine as necessary to ensure continuous flow of product.
• Counts and records bags of product that pass through the pick packer operation. Tracks and records quantities of all commodities processed through the plant during shift.
• Sort product as it crosses over the sorting belt, removing all defective product as defined by company quality standards.
• Report any material/product inconsistencies per company quality standards.
• Rotates through multiple work centers and provides breaks to other members on the team to ensure continuous flow of product through the plant.
• Works within and maintains specified quality standards to ensure a quality product is shipped to all customers. Makes appropriate notifications when quality standards are out of specification to ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by performing various housekeeping duties, including following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Plant rules.
• Meets daily production requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.

Specific positions:

• Skimmers - must be able to stand for long hours
• Sorters - must not be affected by motion sickness, must be able to stand for long hours
• Lug Dump/Stackers - must be able to repeatedly lift 30+ lbs during entire shift
• Sprayers - will be in a constant wet and cold environment
• Line Cleaner - must be able to repeatedly lift 30+ lbs and in a wet environment during entire shift
• EOL (End of the Line) - must be able to complete/understand paperwork and work in a constant cold environment

Associates in the above positions may be asked to flex into other positions depending on the production needs.
