Job summary

Woodgrain, Inc. in Independence, VA is seeking a Dry Kiln Lumber Packer to stack lumber as it comes from the dry kiln, ensuring correct dimensions and proper sticker placement. The role emphasizes keeping the production line moving and maintaining safety standards.

Duties include stacking boards by size, watching for edge stickers and overlaps, applying labels, and adhering to Lock out/Tag out procedures. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lock out/Tag out trained.
• Safety minded while working in a production environment.
• Able to move boards and wood pieces; physical activity required.

Responsibilities

• Stack boards according to size (length, width, thickness) with smaller boards in the middle.
• Watch for stickers on edge, boards doubling up, or boards overlapped.
• Ensure boards do not cross at the chains from incline to outfeed.
• Place proper label on the pack.
• Keep the line moving at all times unless there is a breakdown.
• Other duties as assigned.
