Job summary

Vicksburg Forest Products is seeking a Dry End Superintendent to lead the wood production team at our Vicksburg, MS facility. The role focuses on safety, cost control, and efficient process flow across shifts to achieve budgeted outputs.

You will drive continuous improvement, oversee quality checks, and develop supervisors and hourly staff while maintaining strong engagement and environmental compliance in a fast-paced plant setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of verifiable lumber production experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for coaching, feedback, and problem solving.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with MS Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Lean manufacturing/5S experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest safety standards and lead by example.
• Plan workflow, control operating costs, and prioritize outages and repairs; manage staffing.
• Ensure budgets and performance objectives are met; coordinate resources and problem solve.
• Demonstrate strong leadership; coach, direct, and monitor team performance.
• Maintain product specifications; conduct routine quality checks and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop programs to ensure products meet standards and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze raw materials daily and adjust to meet production budgets.
• Foster open, respectful communication across the team.
• Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions.
