Job summary

Hood Industries in Waynesboro, MS is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team, ensuring equipment reliability while driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the operation. You will plan preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, coordinate repairs, and manage spare parts to maximize uptime, product quality, and plant productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least 2 years of leadership experience (supervisory or lead role)
• Experience in the wood products industry preferred
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
• Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance team members
• Plan and schedule preventive and predictive maintenance activities
• Diagnose equipment failures and oversee timely repairs
• Manage spare parts inventory and critical components
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Communicate effectively with operations and leadership teams
• Monitor equipment performance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
• Analyze root causes of failures and implement corrective actions
• Maintain a strong understanding of KPIs, including daily and weekly production, efficiency, downtime, quality, and safety
• Implement projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
• Lead and support safety, health, and environmental initiatives within the maintenance team
• Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance documentation
• Support plant operations with additional responsibilities as needed.
