Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of drug testing services in Milwaukee County. The primary duties will involve observed collections of urine specimens, assuring Milwaukee County Chain of Custody protocols are utilized within daily operations, utilization of ePretrial for the reporting of results, and assisting the Lead Drug Testing Technician with managing inventory of testing equipment.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of urinalysis collection practices and procedures. Experience with computer use and managing web-based software and data entry. Maintain professional and respectful relationships with staff and participants. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers. Ability to multitask with attention to detail. Ability to strictly adhere to Milwaukee County Chain of Custody protocols. Training and daily implementation of Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing.
Minimal Qualifications:
Work Relationship and Scope: Reports directly to the Lead Drug Testing Technician and the Director of Electronic Monitoring and Drug Testing. Daily contact with wide spectrum of individuals including drug testing program participants, pretrial services supervisors and case managers, WCS staff and leadership, and Milwaukee County Courthouse personnel.
Personal Attributes: Follow agency and leadership Code of Conduct; adhere to established policies and procedures of the agency and of all funding sources; conduct self in an ethical manner; maintain professional and respectful relationships with program staff, other WCS staff, clients and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues; demonstrate commitment to agency mission, vision and values.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in the pretrial services offices (specifically room 417) of the Milwaukee County Safety Building. Other work functions may be required at other WCS locations as assigned and may require use of car. Average at least 40 hours per week; may include some weekends. Schedule is generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 – 4:30 pm.
Physical Demands: Duties require good hearing and visualization. The ability to communicate verbally and effectively; hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing; ability to collect and directly observe participants being drug tested, following the specific county protocols. Valid driver’s license.
