Job summary

Viltis seeks two detail-oriented Positive Aliquoters to support a toxicology laboratory in Gretna, LA. You will identify and retrieve presumptive-positive specimens and prepare aliquots for confirmation testing in line with lab procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include handling specimens, maintaining chain-of-custody, and ensuring proper storage while protecting donor confidentiality. Attending to production flow and safety standards is required in a climate-controlled lab

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with LIS and lab systems.
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Strong understanding of SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT and related regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read SOPs and federal/guideline documents (49 CFR Part 40, CAP-FUDT).
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors and manage production demands.

Responsibilities

• Store positive specimens in designated refrigerator and freezer areas.
• Retrieve frozen specimens for repeat aliquoting.
• Receive and open specimens delivered for laboratory analysis.

• Dispose of specimens as needed, following laboratory procedures.
• Clean and maintain the work area daily.
• Protect donor confidentiality and follow all security procedures and company policies.

Employment Type: Temporary-to-Permanent | Onsite
Schedule: 40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts

Bonus: $400 at 30 days and $400 at 90 days, contingent on no attendance or performance issues.

In this role, you will identify and retrieve presumptive-positive specimens and prepare aliquots—smaller portions of each sample—for confirmation testing in accordance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

Retrieve presumptive-positive specimens, prepare aliquots for confirmation testing, and arrange them in the required order.

Store positive specimens in designated refrigerator and freezer areas.

Retrieve frozen specimens for repeat aliquoting.

Receive and open specimens delivered for laboratory analysis.

Dispose of specimens as needed, following laboratory procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors, manage production demands, and recommend operational improvements.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, perform full-body movements, and climb stairs.

Vision and hearing, with correction as needed, sufficient to perform assigned duties.

Work in a climate-controlled laboratory and refrigerated/freezer storage areas.

Potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials.
