Job summary

The Lancaster County Drug and Alcohol Caseworker provides a full range of case management services to clients with drug and alcohol issues, ensuring access to continuum of care by identifying, referring and authorizing appropriate services.

They oversee an administrative caseload under the direction of the Assistant Chief Caseworker and participate in community partnerships and court-related activities.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year direct service experience in alcohol or other drug treatment setting.
• Alternative: degree with 18 credits in social sciences plus one year direct service experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Attend required DDAP trainings within the first year of hire and pursue ongoing training.
• Develop positive working relationships with D&A service providers.
• Place clients into appropriate level of care and complete placement forms.
• Review residential treatment continued stay decisions.
• Monitor client participation, satisfaction and progress through treatment services.
• Coordinate discharge planning and community service referrals.
• Maintain accurate client records and case notes.
• Advocate on behalf of clients and liaise with community stakeholders.
