SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, home of the LCLS, seeks an Associate Staff Scientist to advance sample delivery methods and electrochemical control for time-resolved crystallography at the MFX instrument. You will prototype, optimize, and implement droplet-based and gas-fluid delivery, with an eye toward LCLS‑II‑HE upgrades and high repetition rates.

You will collaborate with staff and user groups to plan experiments, enable advanced measurements, and publish results in peer‑reviewed

Formación

• PhD in a related field; 0-2 years microfluidics/mechatronics preferred.
• Hands-on experience with X-ray spectroscopy and/or X-ray diffraction.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and test new techniques for X-ray instruments.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, optimize, and construct advanced sample delivery systems in-house for LCLS‑II‑HE upgrades.
• Lead efforts to replicate and improve current droplet delivery techniques and develop new excitation methods.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to plan experiments and disseminate results.
