Job summary

Velocity TruckingPros LLC is seeking a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver to join our 100% no-touch freight operation around the St. Louis area. You will handle local container transport with daycab trucks and return home daily after each shift.

The role covers local and regional lanes up to 300 miles, with base pay plus per-mile and stop pay, and a potential load-based bonus. Requirements include a valid Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, 3 months’ experience, clean driving record, and drug screen.

Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver - 100% No-Touch Freight | Daily Home Time

Looking to step away from long haul and secure a daily routine where you return home after every single shift? We have open seats on our dedicated intermodal fleet running out of the St. Louis area. You’ll handle local and regional container transport, providing you with consistent work and predictable daily home time.

You won’t be living on the road for days at a time. You’ll operate daycab trucks pulling intermodal containers on chassis within a regional service area, keeping your miles steady and your schedule local.

What You’ll Earn & Expect

Weekly Income: Drivers average around $1,100 gross per week.

Pay Structure: Base rate of $0.56 per mile for both loaded and empty miles. Short runs (1-49 loaded miles) pay $40.00 plus mileage. Additional stop pay is $20.00 per stop.

Bonus Opportunity: Load-based bonus incentives available.

The Work: 100% no hand-unloading. Freight handling includes a combination of drop-and-hook, preloaded trailers, and live loads/unloads.

Schedule & Home Time: 100% Home Daily. Both Day and Night shifts are active. Weekend work is required, and holiday coverage is on an as-needed basis.

Service Territory: Local container shuttles and regional lanes covering up to a 300-mile radius.

Equipment Note: Dedicated slip-seat daycab operations.

Requirements to Join

Hiring Radius: Must live within 50 miles of the dispatch terminal (Zip Code: 63147).

Driving Experience: Designed for First Seat solo drivers (no trainees or team setups). Minimum of 3 months of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience required.

Licensing & Credentials: Valid Class A CDL and active DOT Medical Card. No extra endorsements needed.

Background Check: Clean driving record, solid work background, and passing a mandatory drug screen.

Note: Open to both Company Drivers and Owner-Operators.
