Job summary

Apellix in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Drone Technician to build, test, and repair semi-autonomous drone platforms (B2, Blue, SPD). You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and production teams to deliver production-ready systems that meet safety and reliability standards.

You will grow into a technical authority, contribute to SOPs and documentation, and participate in customer demos, field deployments, and government projects.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Hands-on experience building/repairing electromechanical systems
• Comfort with soldering and wiring
• Systematic troubleshooting and clear documentation
• Attention to detail and safety-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, and maintain Apellix drone platforms
• Inspect, calibrate, and test drone components, sensors, and onboard systems
• Troubleshoot hardware, electrical, and system-level issues during build, test, and field use
• Support flight testing, production validation flights, and quality control testing
• Diagnose and repair drones returning from the field, document root causes and corrective actions
• Contribute to SOPs, checklists, and documentation that enable repeatable production
• Cross-train across assembly, testing, and flight operations, taking ownership of tools and workspace
