Job description

SPH Engineering builds drone-based sensing solutions for survey, inspection and data collection. Our portfolio includes UgCS flight planning software, SkyHub onboard integration hardware, and a range of payloads: magnetometers, ground-penetrating radar, single- and multibeam echo sounders, side-scan sonar, methane detectors, gamma-ray spectrometers and water samplers. Our solutions work with leading drone platforms from different manufacturers. Founded in 2013 in Riga, Latvia (EU), we serve customers and partners in 150+ countries. SPH Technologies Inc., our US entity in Texas, is the hub for customers across the US, Canada and Latin America.

We are looking for a hands‑on Drone Systems Technician to run our US operations and demo program. You will build and ship systems from our Texas stock, show customers what our technology can do in the field, and help them succeed after delivery. This is a role for someone who enjoys working with hardware on the bench and flying it in the field, and who wants to grow with a fast‑expanding office.

What You’ll Do
US stock and order fulfillment
  • Manage local US inventory: receiving, stock accuracy and replenishment requests to HQ
  • Assemble, configure and test orders, including MagNIMBUS magnetometer systems and multibeam, side‑scan sonar and single‑beam echo sounder systems, following SPH procedures
  • Run pre‑shipment quality checks and prepare shipping and export documentation for the US, Canada and Latin America
  • Handle RMA intake and first‑level diagnostics on returned equipment
Demos and field work
  • Prepare and run regular product demos (at least monthly) for customers, distributors and partners across the Americas, together with the sales team
  • Fly as pilot and payload operator during demos and customer proofs of concept, and help prepare the resulting data and reports
  • Support trade shows, field days and customer events
Customer support and training
  • Provide technical support for SPH hardware and software through Jira Service Desk, email and phone, and elevate to R&D in Riga when needed
  • Deliver on‑site and remote training on system setup, first flights and data acquisition
  • Help create and localize training materials and user guides in English and Spanish
  • Share field feedback and recurring issues with Product and R&D
What You Bring
  • 1+ years hands‑on technical experience in drone, survey, electronics or similar hardware: assembly, testing, field operations or technical support
  • Previous experience in a customer‑facing role
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Familiarity with enterprise drone and sensor payloads operations
  • Comfortable with hardware assembly, cabling, connectors and basic electronics troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail in assembly, inventory, documentation and shipping
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel up to 30%, including internationally
  • US work authorization and a valid driver’s license
Nice to have
  • Previous experience in customer onboarding or customer success
  • Remote sensing experience
  • UgCS experience
  • Familiarity with ArduPilot
  • Experience with Global Mapper, HydroMagic or Oasis montaj
  • Experience with drone payloads: magnetometers, echo sounders, sonar, LiDAR or GPR
  • Portuguese
  • Jira Service Desk or similar ticketing tools
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary plus performance-based bonus
  • Partial health insurance coverage
  • Generous paid holiday and vacation plan
  • Per diem when traveling
  • Hybrid schedule (Pflugerville, TX) and travel across the Americas
  • Join a global team and get hands‑on with cutting‑edge geophysical sensing technology at the forefront of drone‑based data collection
