Job summary

Red Cat Holdings is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern to help advance the Android-based ground control station for our drone platforms. You will work with our engineering team on real-time data connections, C++ code, and Android apps, gaining hands-on experience in field-ready software.

You will learn MAVLink communications, debugging in Linux environments, and contribute to testing, tooling, and documentation under mentorship from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Coursework or projects involving C++ (Java/Kotlin, Python also valued).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging instincts and curiosity about robotics or real-time/embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and testing features for the Android-based ground control app.
• Help debug issues in native C++ code or Android apps.
• Learn how drone-ground control software communicates in real time (MAVLink, networking).
• Support testing/validation and field-testing when available.
• Contribute to build tooling, documentation, or automation tasks.
