Job summary

Inspired Flight Technologies Inc. in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a software and hardware integration team focused on drone systems, validation, and DevOps.

You will mentor 4–8 engineers, shape system architecture, collaborate with product and hardware teams, and drive the software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience with at least 2 years in leadership.
• Experience in UAS, aviation, aerospace, robotics, autonomy or defense.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-8 engineers.
• Provide technical guidance on system architecture and code.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, drone testing, and DevOps.
• Manage software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
• Collaborate with product and hardware teams to define integration & test requirements.
• Interface with Product Management on scope, schedules, and risk.
