Job summary

Amazon Prime Air is seeking a Safety and Compliance Officer to join its dynamic drone delivery program in Durham, NC. You will serve as the local safety and flight operations expert, auditing sites, tracking safety metrics, and ensuring WHS and flight regulations are followed.

In this role you will collaborate across teams, help maintain accurate records for flight crews, pursue FAA Part 107 certification, and promote a strong safety culture while supporting the rapid delivery mission.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations.
• Flex schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, and move.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field, or 1+ years in EH&S or Safety roles at Amazon, or 6 months in a safety-related role within Amazon.
• Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Audit flight monitors, ground crew, and operations to ensure safety standards.
• Monitor safety at Prime Air delivery sites, including risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records for flight crew as authorized.
• Serve as the primary contact for WHS regulatory partners during inspections and visits.
• Analyze operations data and safety metrics and report findings to senior leadership.
• Conduct routine audits of operations, WHS site safety, and compliance, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Stay informed on Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
