Job summary

Amazon in Columbus, OH seeks a Safety and Compliance Officer to lead safety and regulatory efforts for Prime Air drone operations. You will audit flight monitors, manage site safety, and liaise with WHS regulators to ensure compliant, safe operations.

The role requires flight safety knowledge, flexibility, and FAA Part 107 readiness. Travel up to 25% and lifting up to 50 lbs are expected; a related degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in EHS or 1+ year safety-related experience within Amazon; FAA Part 107 certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Audit flight monitors, ground crew, and operations for safety adherence.
• Monitor safety at delivery sites, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Maintain records for flight crew as authorized.
• Serve as primary contact for WHS regulatory partners during inspections.
• Analyze safety data and report trends to senior leadership.
• Conduct routine audits of WHS and flight operations; ensure corrective actions.
