Job summary

Thomas Elevated Ag is seeking a Drone Service Technician to support customers before and after the sale by providing technical assistance, performing repairs, conducting inspections, and assisting with drone operations.

This role requires troubleshooting skills, the ability to learn technical systems quickly, and strong communication and customer service abilities. Travel for training and field service is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with drones, RC aircraft, RC vehicles, electronics, mechanical repair, or agricultural equipment.
• Agricultural background or familiarity with farming operations is beneficial but not required.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, software, or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair EA Vision agricultural drones and related equipment.
• Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on customer-owned aircraft.
• Document repairs, warranty claims, and service records accurately.
• Assist customers with technical support via phone, text, email, and remote troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Drone Division Specialist on advanced troubleshooting and warranty issues.
• Maintain repair shop organization and cleanliness.
• Receive, organize, and track drone parts inventory.
• Prepare and ship customer parts orders.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
• Maintain service records and repair documentation.
• Obtain and maintain FAA Part 107 certification, Iowa aerial applicators.
• Conduct test flights following repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with custom application operations as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures and FAA regulations.
• Understand the operations of drone and how they work in the field by going out and spraying/spreading.
• May occasionally assist with demonstrations, training events, and field service activities as needed

Thomas Elevated Ag is an authorized EA Vision agricultural drone dealer serving farmers and commercial applicators in Iowa and Northern Illinois. As our customer base continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated Drone Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working with technology, solving problems, and helping customers succeed in the field.

Position Summary

The Drone Service Technician is responsible for supporting customers before and after the sale by providing technical assistance, performing repairs, conducting inspections, and assisting with drone operations. This individual will work closely with customers, manufacturers, and the Thomas Elevated Ag team to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Repairs

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair EA Vision agricultural drones and related equipment.
• Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on customer-owned aircraft.
• Document repairs, warranty claims, and service records accurately.
• Assist customers with technical support via phone, text, email, and remote troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Drone Division Specialist on advanced troubleshooting and warranty issues.
• Maintain repair shop organization and cleanliness.

Inventory & Operations

• Receive, organize, and track drone parts inventory.
• Prepare and ship customer parts orders.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
• Maintain service records and repair documentation.

Flight Operations

• Obtain and maintain FAA Part 107 certification, Iowa aerial applicators
• Conduct test flights following repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with custom application operations as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures and FAA regulations.
• Understand the operations of drone and how they work in the field by going out and spraying/spreading
• May occasionally assist with demonstrations, training events, and field service activities as needed

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Experience with drones, RC aircraft, RC vehicles, electronics, mechanical repair, or agricultural equipment.
• Agricultural background or familiarity with farming operations is beneficial but not required.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, software, or mechanical systems.

Certifications

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform hands‑on repair work for extended periods.
