Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Hardware Engineer for Prime Air to lead hardware integration and validation of avionics for autonomous drones. You will design, implement, and validate hardware with cross‑functional teams across propulsion, structures, firmware, software, and safety to meet stringent safety and reliability standards.

The role requires experience with analog/digital hardware and automated lab test development, plus ability to work with DO‑160/DO‑254 standards and manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hardware design and validation experience.
• Experience with coding/scripting languages (Python, C/C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Validate hardware interfaces and enable system integration.
• Architect, build, and operate test systems for drone avionics hardware when bringing up subsystems and systems.
• Develop and execute verification and validation plans against aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-254).
• Analyze test data and generate reports with recommendations.
• Root cause analysis on hardware failures and drive corrective actions.
